Putin and all his works must fail before he dies. It must be proved that he and his policies are failures. I don't want his vodka flavored Kool-Ade followers to say "he would have succeeded had he not died. It was his replacement that did not have the true vision." It must be abundantly clear that the failure is all his. It must all come crashing down while he is still in charge. It must be unmistakably clear that he was the cause of Ukrainian and Russian suffering.

Marina Ovsyannikova called emergency services and was hospitalized after suddenly falling ill as she left her Paris apartment and said she suspected she was poisoned, the Paris prosecutor's office said.
Police were examining her apartment and an investigation was underway, the prosecutor's office said.
Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders, which helped Ovsyannikova escape Russia and settle in France, said its team has been ''at her side'' since she sought medical attention. The group, known also by its French acronym RSF, did not have further information about what happened.
Ovsyannikova, who worked at Russian state television Channel One, drew international attention in March 2022 after appearing behind the anchor of an evening news broadcast with a sign that said, "Stop the war, don't believe the propaganda, they are lying to you here."

Russian troops are "exhausted" after suffering "significant" losses following their major attack on the key Ukrainian town of Avdiivka, a US war think tank has said. Russian and Ukrainian forces fought fierce battles around the strategically important eastern town for a third day after Moscow launched one of its biggest military offensives in months.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on Thursday that Vladimir Putin's troops are subsequently "exhausted", according to Russian "Vostok" Battalion Commander Alexander Khodakovsky, who is now even "advocating for Russian forces to freeze the frontlines in Ukraine" in order to make replacements.
The ISW added that, in the face of relentless attacks, Ukrainian forces have managed to destroy at least 36 Russian armoured vehicles, including tanks, according to a Ukrainian reserve officer.

KYIV, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Fighting along the northern portion of Ukraine's eastern front has "significantly worsened" in recent days, the commander of Kyiv's ground forces said on Saturday.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, who was visiting Ukrainian troops in the area, said Russian forces had regrouped after suffering losses and were attacking around the village of Makiivka and towards the city of Kupiansk.
"The main objective of the enemy is the defeat of a grouping of our troops, the encirclement of Kupiansk and to reach the Oskil River," he said in comments carried by an official military platform.
Syrskyi added that Russian forces were carrying out "dozens" of assaults each day, but that Ukrainian troops had been ready and were holding their ground.
The development comes as Kremlin forces were also pummelling the strategic Ukrainian city of Avdiivka, on a different section of the eastern front, in what Russian and Western officials said amounted to a new offensive.
A four-month-old Ukrainian counteroffensive has made some progress in both the east, near Bakhmut, and in the south, where Kyiv hopes to reach the Sea of Azov, but gains have been incremental.

But now, as congressional gridlock delays funding for the war in Ukraine, the Frankenstein-like program for surface-to-air missiles has become more of a life saver and a reliable way to get working weapons to the battlefield now. The rapid delivery of the systems comes as Ukraine tries to ward off Russian airstrikes and make as many gains as possible before troops are slowed down by weather.
A senior U.S. defense official said Thursday that the U.S. has been able to improvise and build a new missile launcher from radars and other parts contributed by allies and partners. The system will be able to launch AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles, which the U.S. announced Wednesday it will send to Ukraine in the latest aid package.
At the same time, U.S. engineers have been able to work with Ukraine to modify a Soviet-era Buk air defense launcher so that it can fire RIM-7 missiles, which the U.S. has in large quantities. Ukraine has a number of the Buk systems, but its supply of missiles had been dwindling.
Both of those systems, the official said, are moving to Ukraine this fall, in an effort to meet critical air defense needs as it struggles to retake territory the Russians have seized and gain a solid battlefield footing as the muddy season hits ahead of the winter freeze.
