The Echuca Aero Club is proud to host it's third biennial
Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia'sFly-In and Air Show
The general public and lovers of aircraft are in for a treat on Sunday April 3 when the Echuca Aero Club hosts the biennial Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Fly-In and Air Show.
With over 150 magnificently restored antique aircraft broadly representing the history of aviation in Australia will be on display. Get up close and personal to inspect these treasures, and take the opportunity to chat with the pilots and restorers.
The action packed Air Show, starting at 11.00am, will include many of the famous World War 2 fighter aircraft, such as the immortal Supermarine Spitfire of Battle of Britain fame, North American Mustangs, Curtiss Kittyhawks, the Australian CAC-built Boomerang, and the superb Russian Yak 9 fighter.
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Roulettes will ensure all eyes are skyward as they preform breathtaking aerial formation manoeuvres and aerobatic sequences.
Other displays will include jet fighters, high adrenalin aerobatics flown by Mat Hall of RED BULL FAME, in his new 2010 MXS-R, Local pilot Murray Lanyon in his Boeing Stearman E75 with a 450hp Pratt Whitney engine perfoming a aerobatic display, helicopter demonstrations, as well as fly by's and aerobatics showing off some of the beautifully restored antique aircraft.
For the adventurous, joy flights will be available in the L39 jet fighter, open cockpit Tiger Moth, and general aviation aircraft.
The RAAF will also offer tethered balloon flights to give people a chance to experience the freedom and silence that a hot air balloon flight offers.
Apart from being possibly one of the most spectacular aviation events presented in regional Australia, the Echuca Aero Club have endeavoured to satisfy that there is something for everybody, which will include, a large and varied selection of gourmet food stalls, merchandise stores, markets, vintage and veteran cars, motorcycles, steam and stationary engines, children's entertainment, model aircraft, and much more."
