Got all the decals on the tanker unit, although those on the rear doors will be done later, as I need to check on sizing and spacing across the four separate door sections.
The "U S Army ......", the front "No Smoking" and the serial number are from the Tamiya kit, with the numerals cut and re-arranged for the serial number, and a "W" added in front of the numbers, from the Railtec sheets. (the "W" indicated Tanker.). The stars are also from the Tamiya kit.
The "Gasoline", rear "No Smoking" and the "04" fleet number were made up from two sizes of individual characters from the Railtec sheets, a slightly fiiddly and time-consuming job.
Unfortunately, the "Gasoline" on the left-hand side has a slight (unintentional) slope on it (Oops ! A well-known TV car show presenter got fired for saying something similar !!). Hopefully, this won't be too noticeable in the overall diorama "scene" though.
I'll let the decals set overnight, and then spray a matt clear coat, before adding some grime and general "wear & tear", and then fit the wheels and do the detail work, such as tail lights, reflectors etc.
Back sometime tomorrow ...............
