Fourteen Battle of Britain veterans have taken to the skies in a special memorial flight.

The chartered airliner flew over parts of England and the English channel that saw some of the fiercest aerial combats.

The British Airways Airbus was accompanied for part of the way by a Spitfire and Hurricane from the period.

Too true! And the fill-ins were key.

Very cosy flight. No draft, no cold, no noise to speak of, no need to use the radio to talk to somebody, no fear of death any second AND PLENTY OF DRINKS!

Scrap the Spitfire and the Hurricane, put me on the Airbus!

On the plus, that's a great pic, nice posting Gnomey! It's great to see that a least a few of those old warplanes are still airworthy.
