I'm thinking to run through the months and Marks like this:

Feb: Mark V
Mar: Mark VI
Apr: Mark VII
May: Mark VIII
Jun: Mark IX
Jul: Mark XII
Aug: Mark XIV
Sep: Mark XVIII
Oct: Mark XIX
Nov: Mark 21
Dec: Mark 22

the mark VIII is the mark 8 (5+1+1+1) while the mark IX is the mark 9 (10-1)

My roman numerals dont stretch to XIX i think it must be a 19 (10 plus 10 minus 1)


what have the romans done for us? screwed up any understanding of numbers for a start

swiss and swedish are easily confused but the swedish have the hottest tottie (doesnt show up on an aircraft insignia though)

OK, I have received a better idea and will be implementing it tomorrow...

In the mean time here's some info:

Roman numerals:

I = 1
V = 5
X = 10

Placing the I to the left of V or X subtracts the number, placing it to the right adds the number

So with V as 5, then IV is 4, and VI is 6 - easy!

And for Spits - VIII is 8 (five plus three ones) and IX is 9 (ten minus one)

The mysterious XIX is also easy - 19 (twenty would be XX, but the middle I subtracts from the right X)

Clave, wasn't 19 Sqdrn the first to use cannon armed Spt IIs? Might want to use 19 Sqdrn for that and another Sqdrn for the Mk I. Just an idea.

Clave, looks great. Changing the thread title, eh? I do like the image in post #11 most of all, but are you still planning a calendar?

Yep, I am just deciding on a couple of things, then I will press ahead with a BoB calendar.

As things stand I want to accurately scale the aircraft against each other, but I'm not 100% decided on this idea, so any feedback would be good. I think think Bomber/Fighter combo looks good, but not to sure about the Fighter/Fighter page...
