Oh come on, we all know RR tradesman made every Merlin by hand with files and hand drills, it took Packard to mass produce them, haven't you watched the history channel?.
Mainly on kitchen tables in Derby until 1942 I have been reliably informed.
When they weren't having tea and bikkies obviously.
That became a serious issue with the tea drinking bikkie munching wives of Derby, a well known historical fact. Street parties were held when Merlins were made somewhere else.

For us American types, a "biscuit" is normally a fluffy, flaky warm thick bread-like item, often cooked in a dutch oven over an open camp fire and smothered in sausage gravy on the plate. With crumbled bacon on top sometimes. Because everything is better with bacon.
