Since Eduard started releasing their new 1/72 109F/G/K line, i knew i'd need to finish my Fine Molds 109s soon. So i started my G-6 and G-10. Then i figured i might as well start my Tamiya G-6 too.

FM G-6: add the AZ tall tail and build Drago's ANR G-6
FM G-10: fudge it a little and build it as a Hungarian Diana G-10 black 16
Tamiya G-6: use the MMP decals to build yellow 9

i started this in the late summer iirc, so don't think i'm a quick builder.

Using the TD resin pit in the G-10, i wanted to open up the canopy. Out came the PE saw and some nerves.

then upon closing up the fuselages, i noticed that my "light" sanding to create the spine panel line, was not so light. So break out the Mr Surfacer.

Then i sanded too heavily and lost some detail. Time to rescribe. This i'm not at all good at.

So the spine and access panels were going to be meh, still i pressed on. A big part of this build was… mottling and my lack of skill there in. To get better at building and finishing, i needed to be better at airbrushing.

Black Mr Surfacer on as primer (thinned a lot). Then Gunze RLM 76 (acqueous and with 20% white).

then some touch ups. And some freehand edge painting on the Tamiya G-6.

Now my long suffering FM G-4 (been stripped and repainted 4 times) joined the party. To be a RA G-4, ex Jg 53, an Erla built machine.

Then today… mottling. and i'm fairly pleased.

thoughts, opinions, tips?

now to mask again and paint a bunch of yellow. then to do the painted out Luftwaffe markings.

When i zoom in on the pictures… meh. but it is better than i've been able to do in the past. Still more to learn.
