Ahoj Romku,

I have found info that the Werk numbers from 412000 to 413000 were for Bf 109G-6 serie but also G-12 serie used numbers from this range.
 
I think yes, but we have to go through tons of materials to find something more on the particular Bf109
.

Romku, I've found two colour profiles of two Bf 109G-6/ASs used in1944.Their Werk Nummeren were 412179 ( black14 of 2./JG3 ) and 412807 ( yellow 2 of II./JG27 ).These Werk Numbers can suggest that the 412960 could be G-6/AS version.

I remember your thread about the Bf109.It sounds really interesting.I have to dig up deep in some books about G-version.Maybe I find something more.
But we should remember that many of G-6 parts were used for other later versions of Bf109 assembling.

Unfortunately ,nothing more.Sorry.I try to get other book about G version but I don't know if a guy will lend me this one.

I've found another info on the Werk number range. 41000-413000 were numbers from Erla factory in Leipzig.

In TBU publication no.181 about Bf109G I've found a small pic of BF109G-6 Werk Nummer 412951.The caption says that the Bf109G-6 "White16" was of 1./JG301 flown by Lt.Prenzel who landed at Manston airfield, England on 21st July 1944.Looking at the pic it seems it was G-6 but not G-6/AS.So our earlier theory is ........ probably.

also 412918 was G-6/AS. But perhabs 412726 was G-6. Man, there´s no order, what a mess...

Maybe this will help as well.

Werk 412924 Yellow 6 was a Bf-109G-6/AS of 3/JG 300 flown by FW Karl Schreieck and suffered 60% damage in combat with mustangs on 09 13 1944

Werk 412930 Yellow 10 was a Bf-109G-6/AS of 3/JG 300 flown by Uffz Alfred Buthe and lonst on 13 09 1944

but then

Werk 412512 White 16 was Bf-109G-6 of 1/JG 300 flown by Uffz Reinhard Hasselbach and lost after a training flight.

Werk 412794 Black 1 was a Bf-109G-6 of 11/JG 53 flown by Uffz Heinz Kempa and lost on 26 09 1944

From the numbers some where between 412794 being a Bf-109G-6 to werk 412830 it went to a Bf-109G-6/AS. At least that seems to suggest a pattern but could be wrong.

G6/R6/U2, captured 21st July 1944. Pilot Lt Horst Prenzel, Staffelkapitan 1./JG 301 took off from Epinoy airfield in Belgium on Wilde Sau operation. At 02.40 am he landed at Manston thinking he was in Northern France. The aircraft was sent to the RAE Farnborough to be tested by S/Ldr R.J.Falk and given the serial number TP814. On 31sty August it was handed to the Air Fighting Development Unit at RAF Wittering. Flew comparative performance tests with Mustang III, Spitfire IX and XIV. Similar test with Tempest V was planned but the aircraft crashed on take off at RAF Wittering 23rd Novemeber injuring the pilot. Aircraft SOC.
A second G6 of the same unit also landed at Manton on the same night. 163240, ex RQ+BK crashed during belly landing. Pilot Fw Manfred Gromil. Cause lack of fuel.

actually Gromill overcompensated finding out at the last minute he was in the UK and upon so crash landed his 109G-6 with underwing gondolas. Interesting that he did not break his neck and kill himslef on the landing.

Gromill was very open about Wilde Sau ops with the British and there are some lengthy accounts both in English and German upon his statements in my data base on I./JG 301
