I've still got the old Matchbox kit Colin, built and painted, or should I say re-painted, twice!
The markings supplied were supposedly for one of Galland's machines, although the decals were for after it went to a training unit, retaining Galland's kill markings and winkel, which is not shown in the instructions. The alternative was, I think, a Rumanian unit or something similar. If Revell were to re-issue that kit, it would be a good one to get. OK, it's the usual old Matchbox 'chunky' look in some parts, and the opening section of the canopy needs attention, or replacing (I scratch-built mine), but overall the kit is accurate, with a heck of a lot of detail, including engine etc.
I have a feeling that the original Hasegawa kit was from the old Frog moulds.
