I am intrigued by the elevation change in the barbican. In the top photo, it looks severe, and I wondered how horses were passed through it to the outer bailey. In the lower photo, it doesn't look to be quite so severe.

Château de la Mothe-Chandeniers.
Hidden in the forest and slowly reclaimed by nature, Château de la Mothe-Chandeniers feels like a forgotten dream.

After a devastating fire in 1932, the château was left abandoned, allowing trees and vegetation to grow within its walls.
Today, it stands as a rare place where architecture and nature have become one.

Is the scaffolding part of a structural stabilization project or actual restoration?

Ran across this interesting site. Looks like a place to take a quick visit. Aquis Querquennis, located on the banks of the Limia River in Galicia, Spain. The camp is usually under water but can now be seen because of the low water levels REDD The camp at Aquis Querquennis, or "A Cidá," was part of the defensive system that controlled the Limia River and Via XVIII of the Antonine Itinerary, known as the Via Nova, which connected Bracara Augusta (Braga) with Asturica Augusta (Astorga). It was built during the reign of Vespasian (69–79 AD) and abandoned around 120 AD. It is believed to have housed the Cohors I Gallica, an auxiliary unit possibly linked to the Legio VII Gemina of León.
