My second entry for the Favorite Aircraft of All Time Group Build is a F-94B Starfire "Hells Angel"
The P/F-80 T-33 F-94 family jets have always been some of my favorite early jets. Seeing the F-94 at the Air Force Museum on my recent trip there made me decide to do this one. I have never used a large PE set like this before. So it should be interesting. The set includes PE seats which I will use keeping the resin seats in reserve if the PE doesn't work out.
The aircraft I will model is F-94B 51-15480 "Hells Angel" Assigned to the 68th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, K-13 Air Base Suwon Korea and Itazuke Air Base Japan during late 1951 and early 1952. I could not find any pictures of the actual aircraft, but here are some cplor pics of other F-94s from the 68th FIS, but the first is a picture of the F-94A I took at the Air Force Museum last weekend.
I started with the cockpit PE. It was the first time I had done anything this extensive with PE, and it wasn't as bad as I had feared. I only got my fingers stuck together once . There's still quite a bit of PE to go including the control panels and parts on the canopy, but I'll get this painted first.
