Hello my fellow modelers:
After a week of masking and applying paint, here's the week advance on the kite:
First, the entire surface was bathed in decanted hair spray (in order to remove the black paint in several areas) and then proceeded to apply more patches of green tones to obtain more contrast.....
Then the masking works were applied with tack and paper before the paint works. Also based on the only image found of this particular kite...
Also the electrical installation was checked before continuing with these works...
Then RLM 76 was applied with a mix of 84 also in order to obtain more contrast on the upper surfaces. After letting the paint dry, immediately some rubbing was applied on several surfaces according to the only photo I have of this kite....
The same procedure was made on the lower surfaces with the diluted black paint. This in order to later apply more colors that include the complete black...
Where several surfaces lost a lot of black paint that later were toned down....
Then some stencils were applied as well as the white surfaces that will function as a base for the recently printed decals....
Once all the decals were positioned, then the mottling works began. I tried to emulate as I could the dots and lines as possible.... (Man, the guy that performed these paint works, surely become mentally ill).....
Then after applying another layer of gloss varnish on the entire surface, then the dark wash was applied with oleum paints.....
I'm aware that more wash paint is needed specifically in the wing surfaces for the engine exhaust stains, and these will be applied with a blend of ochre and grey colors....
For the time being and before continuing with the weathering works, I also printed some SC 2000 bombs that were used by the KG55..... No idea what color was applied in these kind of bombs. Guess that the HE 111 could only carry one of these Herman bombs (which most certainly was the payload limit)....
I'm also a little anxious to remove the masking works applied on the greenhouse cockpit, we will see....
Maybe the 3v batteries will be installed inside the bomb in order to avoid installing and electrical switch, and then the bomb will be located and close the electrical circuit with the help of more Neodymium ....
I'm in a kind of hurry cause I want to participate in the Mexican IPMS nationals (around mid October), and there are still some pending works to be performed on this kite and its display....
That's all for this week my friends and hope you have a good one...
Best regards
Gerry
