An emergency landing was carried out with this aircraft by pilot Oblt. Hermann Weeber and gunner Uffz. Max Michael on September 4, 1940 at Cousley Wood in the
vicinity of Sussex. Both crew were captured. Same as the aircraft depicted on the previous page, this plane carried the initial camouflage scheme consisting of sharply
demarked fields of RLM 70/71/65. At the front end, it carried the identifier for II./ZG76, a large sharkmouth in red and white. The kill markings on the vertical tail belonged
to the unit CO, Erich Groth. Groth reached a total of thirteen kills prior to, on August 12, 1941, fatally crashing near Stavanger in Norway. (His gunner, Ofw. Herbert
Muche also died.) He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross.
