as soon as I dry fit the tail it sat on it's butt!
Couple ounces short and gotta find a place to put it!
 
From those pieces of lead, you can "fillet" small slices that you can split into more pieces and put in all the corners that are still available.

I did that on my B-25G, with a good knife.

Don't forget the engine nacelles (in front of the wheels). Behind the engine and before the wheel strut opening there is a big empty space.

You may need to cut out the plastic "bulkhead" at the front of the nacelle and fill it from there. I'm not sure how are the engine cowlings attached to the nacelles for this model, but usually only the edge must be glued, not the middle part.
