Moving along very nicely George. I see there are several F-104 on this build and I had thought of doing a "C" model. Kinda glad I didn't go that way. You should have done 1/32 scale of this kit. I understand it will give you nightmares for years.

Thanks guys. Glued the tail sections to the fuselage and setting up. These don't quite match the shape of the fuselage. The tops and bottoms are flush but there is about a ¾" step in the center; the tail sections being slightly "D" shaped. No big deal

Thanks Glenn. Starting to look like a Starfighter now and getting harder to photograph

This bird doesn't carry missiles or pods so four slots need to be filled in. Not sure what arrow "A" is pointing to though there is a shapeless blob still on the sprues

Right you are though my blob looks nothing like your photo or on the instruction sheet but I should make it work. One thing I like about Revell's instruction sheet is that the name the part; learn while you build

Managed to pound the right speed brake into the closed position. I can see why they only gave you the open option. It was almost 2mm too long and a wee bit too wide

I'm mudding up the other side and when done I'll attack that speed brake

Thanks Wojtek and Terry. I went through all my books and couldn't find a photo with the speed brakes open while parked on the ground. Doing a bit more mud work on the left side at the moment

Orginally the Canadian CF-104s didn't have the Vulcan cannon installed. Instead of that there was the additional internal fuel tank attached. The cannon was installed later in 1974 though. So .. before the 1974 the link ejection chute hadn't been used.
