G'day everyone , finally got back to repainting this spitty , been busy trying to figure out how to fly the F/A-18 in DCS , i feathered the edges this time instead of a hard edge on the camo , i found i get a better edge with painting the dark green over they grey instead of vice versa , anybody else notice this when they paint camo ? u can see it in the pics.
The difference in detail between the 2 scales Ralph is amazing.

I'll 2nd that!! So...brush mfg and model, air pressure and paint mfg/thinning? Not sure how your avoiding those stray paint oversprays? Loose masking?

My rule of thumb is to paint the darker colours over the lighter and that includes free hand camo paint.

I done it all by freehand , no masking , just had the painting guide beside me , i sprayed down the green first then the grey , i left the pressure around 15-20 psi and thinned the green paint to a ratio of 3:1 and used the smallest needle and tip in my airbrush , i held the airbrush probly around 1 cm from the plane and angled the airbrush so it wouldn't blow over the grey paint , when painting i was only slightly pulling back on the needle to get a tiny amount of paint coming out , gota be careful to not clog the tip and get splatter .
I was using the AK real colours with tamiya retarder lacquer thinner with a paasche talon airbrush . The part number for the airbrush is on the box if u wana have a detailed look at it .

I believe Oxford Blue is a close match, BS105.
