The fuel tanks and rocket racks ready to go. Every picture of the Alaskan P-82s I have seen show them usually with the rocket racks but never with rockets, so I will not be mounting the rockets.
I tried something I wasn't sure would work. I cut a stencil for the fuselage numbers out of tape with an xacto knife and it worked out pretty well except I forgot to cut the dash out. It won't be too hard to fix.
Also got a good start on the decals.
The props have been assembled but still need to be hit with dull coat. I hate it when kits have separate blades and no positive way to lock them in the proper place. I spent well over an hour getting these right.
I painted on the missing dashes, sprayed some darker silver around the exhausts, coated all the red with Future and managed to straighten out the under-canopy antenna in the left cockpit by prying open the bottom joint and slipping in a thin steel rod to manipulate it back into position.
Also finished up the decals except for the tail numbers. I had 2 sets to make up the 6415, but they all desegrated even after being coated with Micro Liquid Decal Film. I will have to come up with something else.
