Ocean Grey sprayed on with a similar technique to that described above. This time, I lightened the stock Tamiya XF-82 a tad with white for the base coat as I find it a bit dark. The picture below, however, makes it look TOO light, though this will even out once the green is applied.
Thanks Geo and Vic. Wife's watchin' Youtube and Flames are off tonight so went down on got stuck in with the Green application. Went as far as the cup lasted and called it a night. All freehand with very thin paint.
Finished the base camo with a deliberately patchy appearance and applied a bit of chipping with a silver pencil. Will gloss coat this afternoon and leave it be for a bit.
I'll be heading out of town tomorrow to attend my son's graduation (Masters in Psychology - yeah he's on to me) so won't have anything to report until Friday earliest. I won't get this model done for Sunday but if we end up extending the GB for a week I'll have a chance. Talk soon.
Looks nice Andy and I'm sure a weeks extension will be well received, so why not give yourself one. Enjoy the graduation, congrats to your son and I'm sure your a proud Dad.
Thanks guys. We'll see if anyone else jumps in with an extension request Vic. So far it's pretty quiet. Also thanks for the kind words and, yes, I'm proud of his achievement.
