Looks to me like your paint is too thick Graham. Highly thinned paint, like 70% thinner and low pressure, as low as your machine can go, plus practice should help.

I can set my airbrush down to where it will paint about a mm wide. The problem I have is it' spits a blob out every now and then. Paint accumulates on the nozzle and lets loose. Doesn't seem to matter about the paint mixture or the air pressure. I usually knock it down to 3-5 psi. No difference. I need a better airbrush !

2nd paint attempt. Time consuming, at least it will be on the topside but I think it looks pretty good, a coat of flat clear will help. Canopy is coming along. The front is not quite right. I need to refine the shape of the plug a little, doesn't fit too good and too roundish.

No damage I can see. I have two airbrushes and I've tried swapping parts no difference. It's a Badger 150, not a great airbrush I know but it's served me 40 years or so. Time for something better !

Canopy is glued in place. Needs a bit of fine tuning on the sliding parts. Masking it will be fun ! Worth it though. Kit part is nasty !

Nice. Some day I need to mold my own clear parts for my PR Mosquito. What type of plastic did you use for your canopy?

I honestly don't remember.It was probably 25 years ago. I went to the plastic shop and told them what I was looking for and they sold me a roll of the stuff. A huge roll ! 4x8 and I'm almost out of the stuff. Used it for lot's of different things.
Looks good so far!
