Damn. The Eagles Nest is burning down. Police suspect arson. Such a shame this historical place is destroyed. I'm so glad I have had the opportunity to visit it on many occasions.

There is a lot left in Germany from then.

The Eagles Nest has been open for tourism since the 1950s. I've been several times since the 1980. Just took my kids there last year.

So parts were moved elsewhere? I seemed to recall that the main building had been demolished close to VE Day and that only a lesser building stood by the end of WW2. If parts had moved elsewhere then I guess it was rebuilt?

The Berghof and Eagles Nest are two different places. The Eagles Nest was not demolished. It remained until yesterday.

You are speaking of the Berghof. His actual residence. The Berghof was blown up in 1952. All that remains of it are the foundation, which you can find in the woods.
