I'm pretty sure that this is not a Mk IId, but is one of the three Mk V's built- they were all converted Mk IV's, and had an uprated Merlin 27 or 32 driving a four bladed Rotol Spitfire prop and spinner, along with a larger armored radiator. Not proceeded with, they were all converted back to Mk IV's. The other two Mk V's were NL255 and KX405.

Yep! I have the A&AEE report on their trials of KZ.193 and the photo Snautzer01 posted -- as well as the first one you posted (side profile) -- are included in the report.IMHO ... it's the KZ193.
