The 4 faces of tonight's sunset...
This is around 7pm and I noticed the clouds were looking particularly nice. I honestly thought this might be it for tonight's sunset (even though the sun would actually set for about another hour)...
About 45 minutes later, I was coming out of the restroom and noticed the sky had lit up nicely, but it was going away, so I had to act
quickly...
A couple of minutes later, most of "the show" was gone, but there was a nice afterglow...
Finally, about 1/2 hour later and the evening is in its final throes. The light had changed to a fairly brilliant red and it was quite a sight to see. Unfortunately, this cell phone just couldn't pick it up, so this is what I ended up with (btw, that little blob in the sky is the local bat, out for a flying bug dinner)...

It's new. I just got it a couple of months ago. That pic is actually kinda fuzzy. I think I moved a little when I took that shot.
One thing that REALLY helps is I use a rest. Those pics are all taken off the back porch, so I set the camera on the railing or one of the posts.
Really helps keep the picture sharp. If I didn't, it would look like it was taken by an ol' drunk.

Beautiful. A timer works well to prevent the shakes. I always use one on my big and small Canons and my phone. Take several shots of the same thing and run them through IrfanView to select the best one
