F4F Exterior Colour

I know that the blue-grey is FS35189 or Hu87 or 140 Revell 32157 or MM1920. My simple question is what is the white on this plane? I may have answered my own question. I think it is FS37925 or Hu34 matt Hu22 gloss, MM1745 or Revell32105.

The white is the white... so what is the problem?

You need the Nonspecular Insignia White ANA 601 ( FS 37875 ). ModelMaster Enamel 1768 - Flat White, ModelMaster Acrylic 4769 Flat White/Agama A21 - White FS 37875. Humbrol 034 Matt White FS 37875. Gunze H11. Tamiya XF-2


However the Flat White - FS 37925 ModelMaster 2142 also can be used..

Did the 'White' used have the faintest tinge of Blue or grey?

It didn't rather. It is more likely the white on the fuselage could be the gloss one but not the matt.

I think when I get to the painting stage,I will use Insignia white,with a drop of blue to make the white whiter. I really like this paint scheme. You don't see them painted up like this too often

Also true. However I wouldn't exaggerate with the a drop of blue. The odd tinge of the white has been cause by the grey background of the picture and the Dark Gull Grey at tops of the plane. Just the "light" conditions....
