I had a massive brainstorm re: Tarheel Hal, and err... came up with this:

Part 49: Me262A of the 366th Fighter Squadron, US Army Air Force, 'Tarheel Hal'

Part 50: Avro Vulcan B.2 of the Chilean Air Force.



Part 51: Focke-Wulf Fw-190 D9 of GCIII/6 Vichy French Air Force.



Part 52: Supermarine Spitfire XIV of the Romanian Air Force.



Part 53: Supermarine Spitter Mk I of the 151 Squadron RAF.

Supermarine actually did have a turret fighter design at the time they were designing the prototype Spitfire. The Type 305 was basically the Spit design with a turret similar to your picture. The RAF went with the Defiant and it never got off the drawing board which probably saved Supermarine some embarrassment seeing how well turret fighter concept worked out.
