I'd like to thank all who offered advice, comment and just plain looked around. This thing was a pain in the keester to photograph. All in all, a nice kit though I didn't notice until I put the elevators on and took a head-on shot that the rear fuselage is twisted a bit to the left

Thanks guys. If I can find another kit at a decent price there is a one-off navy paint scheme I wound't mind trying: the aircraft is from the USS Constellation and is wearing the Vietnam SEA paint scheme

Thanks Glenn. One thing that puzzles me is that there is a colour difference between air brushing and the paint brushing, at least for me. Where the stain was, I touched it up with the same colour I sprayed on and it looked more brown than grey. I had to dry-brush Humbrol #127 which is actually the correct colour for Light Gull Grey to come close again
