Good choice, and not a bad kit.
By today's standards, the kit might be slightly less detailed and refined, compared to current Spitfire kits, but considering it was first released around 1980, it still holds up quite well.
I've built a few of these kits, as the Mk.V, and also converted to Mk.I and Mk.II, and it was also the very first Spitfire kit, in any scale, to faithfully replicate the "gull wing" underside wing planform.
Looking forward to seeing the build progress.

In addition to the volume dedicated to the Italian Spitfires, I'm researching the real aircraft, with the volume dedicated to the Airframe & Miniature spitfire.
Thanks to this I discovered that the kit is oversized by about 0.5 cm
and so I decided to re-engrave it and shorten them by as much as necessary.

In fact, I didn't want to do this job either, but when I saw that it was oversized I thought either I'll throw it away or I'll modify it.

I also thought of using the second fuselage of this Mk 1 of the Eduard,
but doing an EduAirfix seemed too much to me.

So I decided to try to keep as many pieces of this Airfix as possible... Even if in the end I'll have to integrate something.

I admire your pluck Bernardo and look forward to following your progress in this build.

Me too !
When I've checked the Airfix fuselage against other kits (Mk.1, Mk.V and Mk.IX), it's been more or less the same around the tail area.
