Temperate Land Scheme - Dark Earth, Dark Green uppers, Sky undersides
Day Fighter Scheme - Dark Green, Ocean Grey uppers, Medium Sea Grey undersides
When I was about 4 or 5, my aunt bought me tin toy Spitfire. It was in Temperate Land Scheme, or close enough. It was the first fighter I could put a name to. I'm fond of that camouflage.
I couldn't understand why they put bullseyes on it.

The "bullseyes" were for the benefit of the enemy, basically stating "Aim here!".
Therefore, allowing for deflection, if aiming at the bullseyes, the enemy would miss, as the rounds would pass behind the Spitfire - a cunning plan !

I learn something new every day.
