After a hiatus on the 104 finally back to it . Going a different oute on this project. Last year while n vacation in Washington State I made a trip to the Museum of Fkight i picked up this fantastic book called Legends of Warfare on the F-104 Starfighter . The was a pic of a early F-104B short tail (C )104 with no Ventrail fin . All metal wing and nose. Only issue is the kinetic G is the long tal and to back date to a short tail B would require some crafty thinkig . I was going to try and find a spare Kinetic C kit and cut the tail off and then graft it onto the G forward airframe but no luck finiding one . So i had a spare hasegawa C aiframe where i cut the tail off to use it as a template . I then used the tail as a template to cut the tail shorter . Then used the Hasegawa rudder to mark and cut the area off to use the C rudder on the kinetic kit . It was a very easy conversion to do and now ill be the only kid on the block with a F-104B-1-LO. Next to get some paint on the cockit .
