Yep, lack of Scottish White Wine has delayed progress !

I've only just spotted a couple of errors concerning the 30mm ADEN cannon areas, one error of my making, and the other on the ESCI kit.
The pic below shows the details, along with a couple of other mods to be done.
The ESCI kit only has three gas ports per side, and there should be six per side (extras shown by white dots). The vent louvres aft of these are also a touch over-sized. Consequently, extra ports will be drilled out, and the vents filled and re-engraved.
Also, in a previous post, I showed the location of the spent shell case ejector tube in the wrong place - it should protrude slightly on the underside, immediately aft of the gun access hatch, as shown in the pic below. (empty cases were ejected, and links collected in an internal tank).
The gun muzzle openings also need to be drilled out, and the hatch for the GPU cable socket opened up.
There are aftermarket gun muzzles available, but it's pointless obtaining and fitting these, as the muzzles are inside the barrel surround, and can not be seen on the real aircraft (unless peering down the blast tube !).

On a side note, and a bit of trivia.
Ever wondered what ESCI means ?
It's pronounced "Esh-she", and is an abbreviation of "Ente Scambi Coloniali Internazionali" - Company for International Colonial Trade.

Sorry Andy, we were posting at the same time.

Been using the scriber for some time, and quite like it for most jobs. It's best to scribe a light line first, and then, with the tool almost vertical, so that the very point of the "hooked" tip is engaged in the scribed line, continue with a couple of light passes, drawing the tool along the line, with the blunt end facing away from the direction of travel, then repeat as needed with heavier passes to increase the depth of the engraving. The angle of scribing can then be adjusted slightly downward if required, giving a deeper cut (useful for cutting right through a part, for example when removing a hatch)
It does remove the swarf and, if there's any residue remaining, a pass or two in the opposite direction, followed by a dust off with a soft brush, will remove this.

Of course, a bit of practice on an old model is useful, but it soon becomes as natural as using any other tool.

EDIT:- Forgot to add - the blade should be kept sharp, and a couple of light passes with a "mild" jeweller's file normally suffices. Also, ensure the the blade/tip is wiped off regularly, to remove swarf/plastic dust, as this can cause the cut to go "off line".

Removal of the raised detail and engraving new panel lines is almost complete. The starboard fuselage half has now been done, including adding the "missing" panels for the liquid oxygen cylinder etc.

I noticed that the NACA duct on this side is in the wrong place, so this will be filled and sanded, and the correct, small panel engraved in this area.
The proper location for the NACA duct has been roughly scribed, and this will be cut and filed to shape, hopefully some time tomorrow.
The "missing" access panels on the port side, for the avionics bays etc, will also be done tomorrow, and then the gun ports and their blast ports and vents on both sides attended to, before a general clean-up and polish of the areas worked on to date.
Strips of "Dymo" label tape were used to provide a guide for the initial, light scribing of the new nose panels, then the tape was removed and the panels fully engraved as described earlier. They're perhaps not totally accurate, due to my stiff hands and wrists, but they're close enough to pass once he model is painted.

With luck, I hope to start on measuring, cutting and adapting the resin parts for the cockpit over the weekend.

Pics below show the progress to date. Note that what looks like a "rogue" engraving or bad scratch, is in fact a "flow line" in the plastic, which was rather distracting !
