Hello All. I think this GB is just what I need. I started this Rudolf-Heinz Ruffer crate about ten years ago. Total re-scribe on the entire thing but when I started cutting stuff off for the Hi-Tech ailerons set, I completely lost my mojo and packed her up. Way too many extras going into this thing so I just might have to scale back on some of that stuff. All I know is I really need to get this thing off my storage shelf!

Added some PE to the cockpit and now laying down some paint to this crate, finally... Found an old, I mean really old, unopened Testers Model Master acrylic RLM 66. Thought I'd give it a try. I really prefer Model Masters RLM colors. I regret throwing out all my old Model Master enamels. I layed down the color and then used a couple drops of XF-2 for highlights. Don't know if it's dramatic enough or not.

I worked on the Gnome-Rhone engines as well as the cowlings. I sanded the raised detail and rescribed. Painted the engines and interior cowlings with Alclad aluminum. That stuff goes on very nice, even though its over 20 years old. Then went in with Migs engine fuel stains wash. Kinda worked it with enamel thinner until it looked the part. I've been looking at paint colors and see every source say RLM 65 on the undersurface on the 129 but I was under the impression that 65 had been replaced by RLM 76 by 42? Anyone have info I'd appreciate. My go to reference is the Squadron Signal and the In Detail series.

RLM 76 was a replacement colour for fighter aircraft, part of the 74/75/76 standardization. Bombers retained the 70/71/65 scheme in simplistic terms.

Hello all...persevering along with this model. I quickly remembered why it was on the zombie shelf. And of course I have to punish myself by adding on more details AMT chose not to. These service panels on the engine nacelles were a serious PITA. Especially when I attached them to the wings first and then later decided to scribe the detail! Have no idea how I'm going to get paint into those gear bays either. Thanks for looking.
