After market decals.

This will be a great addition to my collection of Luftwaffe aircraft. Great details, PE set and transparent gauges. However the kit does not include any Luftwaffe markings. Only captured and post war versions. I bought an extra set of decals that comes with a booklet full of colour pictures that includes options to build three Luftwaffe versions.. I like the look of Black KF+CG. Pilot school Prostejov, Bohemiea-Moravian Protectorate. Fitting since it would appear I'm ethnically Moravian !

Well this will be a test of my occulus orbi for sure ! Tiny parts, tinier PE bits. Looks like no flash and easy parts clean up so here goes. Included are pictures from the booklet I got with the Decals. Cockpit pictures.

Fun with 1:72 scale PE. The fuselage is ready to close up. First, when I was forming the front rudder pedals one of them hit the highway, a bit slightly bigger than a grain of rice.Looked for it briefly. I scratch built some pedals out of beer can aluminum. that will be completely invisible. Then when test fitting the fuselage halves I found now I'm missing the card with the rest of the PE bits. There was only one piece I planned on using so I'm not to concerned about it. Maybe I'll find it when I'm working on the next model I build. Age and eyesight is catching up with me ! Especially in 1:72 scale !

My Luftwaffe collection is all 1:72 scale. Cost, space and availability of kits. Imagine how much space a 1:48 scale Me 323 would take up ! Found the missing PE sheet BTW.

I have a Blohm Voss Bv222 I was thinking about doing for this build but no where to put it !

The missing PE sheet shows it's face in the mess that's my shop. I was able to finish the details on the cockpit ready to close up the fuselage. As far as seat belt harnesses, normally I use strips of masking tape. Then using PE aftermarket sets I cut the buckles and clips from the PE and glue them to the masking tape belts. PE belts are too much brain pain to get in place to look realistic. I tried a set of decal belts this time. The glue on the decals were non existent and would not stick down. I'll never figure out how something can stick better to tweezers than the surface your applying them to. This includes PE bits ? I ended up having to use white glue painted on the backs of the decals to get them to stick. Teeny tiny decals tend to follow surface water tension and not where you want them. Spring loaded water effect. A couple of drops of dish soap in the water eliminates this for anyone who doesn't know.
