Follow the Alaska daily news and you will read about a company and a person getting prosecuted for having two rocket launchers that fit L-39 jets.
They also own some L-39's. The rocket launchers have been in country for 15 yrs and supposedly do not contain the electronics inside to make them usable. The people charged purchased them from ebay. A former Federal Prosecutor is defending them. A pretty interesting story and case to follow.

We posted information on this earlier - this stemmed from an investigation of an L-39 crash in Alaska several months ago.

Mt father in law is an L-39 instructor - he gave those guys formation flying instruction about 6 months ago - rich guys with expensive toys, nothing illegal was going on...

HAHAHA! Couldn't resist "Getting jerked around by the government" = well, duh! What did you expect?

Around 1997 had BATF folks poking around at Mojave becase we were flying a "Cobra." This stupid b*tch BATF agent told us "you guys can't own one of those." We showed her it was a Bell model 208, civilian regestered and inspected by the FAA. Then she said - "IT HAS A MINNIE GUN!' and started to grab the barrels. About that time I spoke up and said "you're grabbing 4130 steel tubes welded to a steel barrel, the whole thing is fake and is used for ballast." After a blank stare the helicopter's ower told her and her comrades to "get the hell off his airport before he has them arrested by the local sheriff and don't come back unless you have a warrent!"

This was one of the most classic things I ever seen!!!! :evil4:

Flyboy- is that an illustration of "government intelligence?"
YEP - YOU SAID IT!!!!

The BATF's feeling about this if you had an aircraft that "looks" like is a military aircraft it should be illegal. The same mentality when addressing guns and "Assult Weapons."

I want a picture of this civilian "Cobra" , what an aircraft to have !

Government officials ... stupid? Never.
