Lunchtime brings a few minutes of rest for these women workers of the assembly line at Douglas Aircraft Company's plant, Long Beach, Calif. Sand bags for protection against air raid form the background. Most important of the many types of aircraft made at this plant are the B-17F ("Flying Fortress") heavy bomber, the A-20 ("Havoc") assault bomber, and the C-47 heavy transport plane for the carrying of troops and cargo

FOR THE ANKLE LOVERS.

The EH&S OSHA department manager did not really exist back then. I think back to what I was asked to do in the 70's working as a kid on farms and in factories. Some of it I look back on now after a career in various types of manufacturing and think WTH was I thinking doing some of the stuff , I have the scars to prove it.

When I was researching the rescue helo from the Bridges as Toko-ri I found this pic and thought the EHS guys would sh*t themselves today. A model of this is available but rather pricey. The reviews are not good.
