ICM 1/48 Yak-9M

Greetings friends! I know that it has been a long time but I am still working on this model. I decided to include the figure to depict Deputy Cmdr. Maj. Ivan A Vishnyakov too. There are some figures that came with the model(s). In order to make the figure look like the photo, I used two figures and changed their heads which worked out well in final appearance. I still need to do a coat of satin varnish and complete everything with a matt varnish but since I decided to use only artist pens for weathering, most effects were done on the gloss surface. I like the results. My daughter does graphic work and she inspired me to use them. These pens work really great. I recommend them if you want to give it a try.

The figure I wanted to use... The head I wanted to use... Roll their heads!

Where we are now... The body has a new head.

Tombow is good for filters and stains. FC Pitt is good for panel lines and rivets, etc.

Greetings friends! Happy New Year!

This project is finally over for good. Sorry, I could not post the picture before. Today I was able to have a quick photo shoot opportunity outside in a sunny but crisp January day. As mentioned here, the aircraft portrays the deputy commander of the 47IAP, I.A. Vishnyakov's Yak-9M at the Kamen'-Rybolov Airfield (Russian Far East), early August 1945.
