Aftermarket Addons: Begemot decals for Yak-7, AeroMaster & Foxbot decals for La-7 & Hayes waterslide white decal paper

I am finally back home and I plan to start on this project right away. As I mentioned here this aircraft will portray deputy commander of the 47IAP, I.A. Vishnyakov's Yak-9M at the Kamen'-Rybolov Airfield (Russian Far East), early August 1945. Already an established ace, he was assigned to lead a squadron during the Soviet-Japanese War between August 9-17. He completed 9 sorties, but had no enemy aircraft shot down. During one of the attacks, he was hit and, with difficulty, he was able to bring the burning plane to the airfield.

I might consider doing the pilot figure as well if I have enough time. I think I will be able to finish it by the deadline on September 4. Thanks everyone!

Thank you friends! Yes, I need to get going. :)

I did start yesterday by some little prep work. I used the Trumpeter riveting tool on some parts. Not perfect results but I think it passes.

Then I used the Vallejo white surface primer on insides and some small parts.

Today, I did some painting and used a mixture of Vallejo Green Grey (70.866) and Neutral Grey (70.864) as a base for A-14 color. Then I covered that with a mist of Neutral Grey to get a closer tone.

Before the first part of the assembly I used several colors (black, gun metal, silver, rust) on a wet palette to paint the small parts of the cockpit and the engine (I plan to leave the side panels open/optional).

Tomorrow the assembly begins
