Is there any visible diffrence outside the Il-76 and 78, other than the nacelles on the wings of the 78? and the reflueing section in the back? Is the back section biger, in photos it doesn't appear to be diffrent, but I want to double check :D
I have a 1/144 Il-78 from Trumpeter that i'd like to build as a 76 for one of the upcoming Gbs

Thanks guys

Igor

The Ilyushin IL-78 is an air-to-air refuelling tanker aircraft and it is just a modified IL-76. The tanker lets three aircraft be refueling in flight simultaneously from the UPAZ-1A (IL-78 ) / UPAZ-1M (IL-78M) 26m refuelling pods fitted to the outer wings and rear fuselage. The only noticed differences are just these pods.

Great, thank you Wurger, I was afraid that the aft bay was a bit larger :)

You'r welcome.

It might be useful for you as well.
