Instead for starting a new thread, but....with the majority of certain ads popping here frequently I've got to ask, has this forum become a dating site?

For sur it hasn't. But you have to ask at the Amazon site why they send a such amount of the scrap. Also check on settings of your net browser and/or adblock. If you don't have any adblocker installed , do it.

I have to agree unfortunately. The content of the advertisement is a thing we have no influence on. Certainly there are soft safeguards but today it is quite difficult to stop it fully. Most of the advert senders use the AI in order to deceive the safety procedures and omit the limiting settings. I have been still using an adblocker that seems to be a little bit too "aggressive" and cuts out all the scrap. Unfortuantely not only this. But I know about it and I'm able to recognize where is a trouble.

If I recall correctly, David put the ads on the site for some money to be able to finance the hosting of this site. So using an adblocker that would not help him.

I agree. But even you have a such soft installed the adverts are still displaying. Using of settings you may filter the content and fit it to your wish. Secondly IIRC most of the net browsers have the adbloking options built-in. Unfortunately moast of users run their browsers on the default settings that aren't the optimal ones.

Horse is working on preparations for updating. Some of the soft was still not upgrading so this may cause the troubles. Sorry for that but untill it can't be accomplished it may occur.

I am checking into the google adsense settings to see what options I have now for ad types etc.

I will let you know what new things I can tweak.

I don't mind the ads, they're a must if we want to keep the site running, it was just a bit of surprise when it was a full screen ad....

Google did an auto experiment on the site for "vingette ads" which has created the recent issues of annoying ads.
I disabled it - so should avoid having these actions.
