VANCOUVER — Solicitor General John van Dongen, whose portfolio included overseeing car insurance, has had his driver's licence suspended for four months after racking up too many speeding tickets.
Van Dongen was informed of the suspension on April 16 and waited until Thursday — a week later — to inform Premier Gordon Campbell about the penalty and request that responsibility for the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles and be removed from his ministry.
