If Petey and Don change contractual prices on their own Switzerland should simply cancel the contract and sue for damages. If the contract actually has a fixed price as claimed.
I hope other foreign buyers have doublechecked their contracts to prevent that from happening to them as well.
The low readyness state of US F-35 may also not be the best advertizement for these aircraft.

If Canada's price on the remaining F-35 options increase then PM Carney has his window to go elsewhere.

Put it in context compared to others:

Sounds like the sell em cheap and then gouge the shit out of them on spares trick used by printer companies as well as the "this is a fixed price" con job..
The F-35 sustainment solution is the same for all operators.

The Aus Defence department (like has happened in other countries over the years) has been caught out several times lately for having staff who are "connected" to one of the supply sources in this sort of study which makes me suspicious of all such reports. It may well be 100% correct but ....

A dose of reality for those pushing the Gripen over the F-35:
Which begs the question, where's Saab's next gen fighter? The Saab Draken was introduced in 1960, the Viggen in 1971, and the Gripen in 1996. The latest version of the Gripen is miles ahead of those from 1996 (much as a Boeing F-15A is no equal to today's F-15X), but AFAIK Saab has no Gripen replacement in development, and Sweden is not part of the Anglo-Italian-Japan GCAP (Global Combat Air Program) or the French-German-Spanish FCAS (Future Combat Air System). Meanwhile, Saab is soon going to see the Western-aligned market for non-F-35 Gen 4/5 fighters get smoked by the South Koreans and their KF-21.

Given the Swedes have only just taken delivery of their first Gripen E they are probably feeling that they have some time. That said:
