Greetings. Retired machinist, R&D tech, engineering tech, custom industrial machinery assembly, installation, and troubleshooting. Worked for Keller Technology, Inc. on their Circulator Automated Assembly and Test System(CAATS) for Northrop Grumman F-22 radar; installation, set-up, and verification at Linthicum, Maryland. Just learned about sleeve valve engines. Oh boy! Motorcycle #16 is a 2004 Triumph Bonneville from Hinckley. See you in the funny papers.

Hello there, and welcome aboard. This forum has quite a lot of useful information on WWII aircraft, and has even debunked quite a number of myths from the era (did you know the P-38 never appeared to have actually been called the 'fork-tailed devil' by the Germans, and the Japanese never appeared to have called the F4U 'Whistling Death').

There's numerous other eras covered as well from WWI, the interwar period, the post-war & modern era (the difference mostly is that, for the purposes of the site, post-war is from the second World War to Vietnam, and modern-era is Vietnam to present), as well as stuff about drones.

There's also some sections devoted to building model airplanes (some people have serious skills and attention to detail -- there was this one guy who built this incredible 1/32 scale Avro Lancaster) and, in addition to aircraft, there's an off-topic forum which includes all sorts of stuff including food (this forum's second passion is basically food that's heavily weighted towards bacon and related items) and a humor section.
