The site lists F4F's based on carrier Nassau in Attu invasion, but there was also actually an F4F-4 squadron based at Kodiak NAS from May-July 1942, VGS-9. I hoped it might have pictures of them, which I've never seen. This was part of the CVE Bogue's air group which had been training San Diego while the ship was being completed, sent to Kodiak to reinforce against possible Japanese attack, and Japanese carriers did strike Dutch Harbor in June, though not Kodiak. Bogue was then assigned to the Atlantic and VC-9 (as redesignated) saw action against U-boats there.
