Now, now gents I do remember that Me-163 Komet was painted RLM red.
The following was 'borrowed from Me 163B Komet

Späte's red Komet - 310050/V41/PK+QL

The most famous Komet must surely be the red Komet in which EK16 commander Wolfgang Späte flew the first operational mission with a Komet. Without his knowledge, the ground crew painted his aircraft bright red, similar to Von Richthofen's red aircraft in WW1. Apparently confidence in the Komet's invulnerability was high! According to his own accounts, Späte was not amused, and ordered the paint to be removed after the flight.

I am very tempted to buy another Hasegawa 1/32 Komet just to do it in red. Different I agree but I like the ground crews idea.

Cheers Switch

Since the only way to likely score a hit on the 163 was during landing, and that was when your camo was most effective to avoid a look down-shoot down, I would have been pissed too.

I wonder if HE could be a SHE!...:D

No matter.Death, Death for the colour on the Fw190.Horror.
What makes the matter worse the author used decals with markings of JG54. Aparently the model it is the Academy no.2120 1/72 scale kit of Fw190A6/8.

But as memory serves the Wurger wore the standard camo pattern with yellow front part of engine cowling

I think it is a good choice Switcha. Most of Me163 models I have ever seen, were of standard camo for these planes. The red one can be something nice contrary to the "pink" Fw-190.:angry5:

Ok back on track....still 1/72 OOB...

That Japanese "George" is outstanding. Where did it place ? I like
the wear on the wings, cowl and tail surfaces.

Charles

It does look good!...but it did not place or get a commendation...
