You think so Matt? It's a very nice model (need to get one for my 56 Sqn build), but I've always though the Swift lacks something in the way of attractive lines. From some angles it looks nice, but from others it's a bit stunted, as if it's been compressed.
Love the Swift even though it turned out to be a lemon in reality. Sad also that we've not got a whole one on display some place after all it was in it's short lived day a bit of a record holder. But I agree with Terry and Daniel, it was a bit like a pregnant Hunter and a pig to fly.

Well you don't see the Swift too often. And all your comments about the Swift are similar to my past thoughts about the Hunter. Only until you guys built a few and posted them did I begin to appreciate the Hunter's beauty too. So phooey on you guys for dissing my girl.

I was going to say the same thing Matt! It looks just like a modified, monoplane version of a Walrus - and probably was!
Vic, I'm not sure, but I think there is a complete Swift in a museum, possibly the record breaker. It's either at Cosford, or maybe even Sunderland. There's also the Swift cockpit simulator, in the small museum at Tatten Hall, next to Coningsby.
I Googled it last night and according to Wikipedia there are three on display at Sunderland, Newark and Tangmere. The speed breaker is at Millom, Cumbria but fuselage only. It also seems Yeovilton have one in store as do Solent Sky, Southampton.
Much more than was about when I was struggling with the vacform about a decade ago.
Not to toss stones in a glass house about the Beriev MBR2, it's by far better than anything that I could do, but......you can still see the decalfilm. Great model and models nonetheless Wayne!
Interesting plane. I had to google it, but the Yak 141 was a supersonic VTOL fighter that never made it into production despite some significant funding (around 400 million $) for research and development from Lockheed-Martin. The two prototypes are on display in Russian museums.
Think I've got a pic of it in 'Soviet Military Aircraft'. Not sure without checking, but that might be the one which had separate engines for the VTOL stage, with main engines for forward flight. Apparently it was a bit on the heavy side......
