Why was half of the pylon painted black?

It is not black but it is of the Dark Green camouflage colour. It was painted in the way because the front part of the pylon was seen from the bird view. In other words from the top. The part under the wing wasn't seen so it stayed in the light blue-grey colour.

No, no. I know the camouflage scheme. The question is different. Do you know the names of the colors the plane was painted with?

Most of them are the same I have posted earlier. The difference is the additional brown-chocolate colour. As memo serves the kind of the colour set was applied in Russia where the MiGs were overhauled.

Chuhuiv, USSR.
If USSR, then "Chuguev". I would recommend using the traditional transliteration of Russian-language place names if we are talking about Soviet times - it may be helpful if further search for information is necessary. The transliteration of the modern Ukrainian name can be additionally specified.

PS. I bet that the name "Chuhuiv" will cause a chuckle among most Russian-speaking forum members - even though everyone realizes that fricative "h" ([ɦ]) is pronounced in Russian as [g] - just like in the German word "Hitler".
By the way, for the same reason (similarity with obscene words) the USSR did not use the abbreviations IBAP/IBAD for fighter-bomber regiments/divisions, the abbreviations APIB and ADIB were used instead respectively.

It is the MiG-23MF, serial 0390217146. She was made 25.04.1979 and delivered to Poland on 04.06.1979. She servided in 28th PLM, Słupsk from 13.06.1979 r. to 12.12.1997. The general overhaul Drezno, DDR in 1990. The last flight on 16.12.1996. or 26.04.1996 ( two different data ) and removed from the register of the aircraft o fthe PAF on 22nd December 1997. She was sold to a private owner and displayed in Sady near Poznań where getting derelicted slowly. Later she was sold/moved to the exibition in Swarzewo near Władysławowo. The new owner "refreshed" her a little bit and repainted with the grey colour insted of the green camouflage.

Are there any photographs of him at the exhibition in Poznań?

Hello, dear. I am engaged in drawing textures on 3D models of aviation, earlier I created a topic on this forum related to and Fw-200 and very much corresponded concerning Ar-234
Now I have a new project. A project to create textures for the Soviet fighter Mig-23M. I drew it literally from scratch. I drew every joint, every rivet and spot welding lines from real photographs.

For this project I ordered 4 personal photo reviews of Mig-23 in the city of Irkutsk and Tolyatti
I will leave you links from Yandex disk to these photo reviews, I hope they will help you :)

A month before the start of the MiG-23 project, I completed the MiG-21Bis project.

Unfortunately, I can't finish my project for one simple reason... I can't find the technical inscriptions, or more specifically, the technical inscriptions located on the roof of the plane.

I searched for this information in every possible way, but came to the conclusion that these photos are not on the Internet
I tried to contact the administration of the Air Force Museum in Dęblin (Poland) and the Langelandsfortet Museum (Denmark) These museums have a MiG-23 exhibit with technical inscriptions. But both museums ignored me
But I managed to contact by email a person who visited this museum 9 years ago. Then he took a couple of dozen high-quality photos and shared them with me. I will also leave you a link to Yandex-disk
I came to the conclusion that it would be best to find decals from assembly models of this aircraft in 1:32 and 1:48 scale. The 1:72 scale is almost illegible.
But here too there were difficulties with finding these decals... I found the layout of the positions without any problems, but I couldn't find anyone who could tell me what was written there.

Therefore, I appeal to you, the participants of this forum, for help, share with me any information you have regarding the MiG-23 family of aircraft.
Also in the future I plan to remake the Mig-23M stencils for other modifications, such as MLD/ML/MF
I would be grateful if you provide me with information on these aircraft modifications as well
In case it might be useful to you in some way, here is a photo of a MiG-23MS that I took last month at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. I don't know why I took only one picture of this plane. (I took a total of about 400 photos that day, and I think my brain was fried by the time I got to this plane!)

By the way, I have several hundred pictures of other aircraft (WW1, interwar, WW2, Korea, etc.) that I took at three American museums, You can find them here: Aviation Museums

What is this Hybrid ML and MLD? As I understand it, this is one of five aircraft received by the National Museum of the US Air Force from the former GDR on March 27, 1991. The original B/N was "Red 338", although the West Germans applied "Black 20 15". Served in the 9th Fighter Regiment of the GDR Air Force.

As memo serves the MiG-2 is a mix of the ML variant ( NATO code Flogger G) and the MLD ( NATO code Flogger K ). The tail is from the MLD while the rest is of the plane from the ML. The MiG 23ML serial number 0390324630. It means tha the tail section is not the orginal one.

MiG-23ML – version with improved handling characteristics thanks to a reduction in the aircraft weight by 1,250 kg (L - as in "Light"), with a new R-35 engine with slightly higher thrust, with modified electronic equipment.

MiG-23MLD – a modification of the ML version, D - as dorabotanyj ( Д – доработанный ) - refined, with improved aerodynamics improving the maneuverability of the aircraft.
