Here is an oldie but goodie. I built this back 1974 when it was first released I had for years I forgot I had this until I stumbled across a box i had stored away for years. I built this straight from the box back in those days there were no such thing of photos etch this is a model of the past.

thank you for your reply even today the TBD is still a very good kit not certain if they make them anymore at least i havent seen any. I remember when i first bought this kit in 1974 it was at K-Mart I mean to tell yoiu they stocked up hundereds of these kits along with the P-61 black widow. Any K-mart store you walked in to they had them stocked to the over head with TBD,s and P-61,s. cheap $1.98 I shoul have bought out the whole model department and stocked these up for a rainy and snowy day stash build. The TBD was the first of the new series of the newly tooled 1/48 scale kits vertually they were the for runner of what monogram produces today. thank for your reply.

You know I remember that kit, Monogram....well back in the day it seemed anything 1/48 was Monogram. It was a nice kit. If I remember right the kit came with pictures of a diorama and the plane was depicted ditched. I think it was the only Monogram kit where the subject was wrecked. I built just about all their kits back in the 70's eventually blew them all up with fire crackers or shot them up with pellet rifles. (smacks myself upside the head ) Wish I still had them now !

They were at one time monograms finist releases, Nowdays there are getting harder to find, Like my TBD for instance. this a vintage kit, The prices of these old kits in the 70,s they were efforable. My only mistake I done I should have stocked up on all of these and keep them for future stash.
