There is so much of my life in this picture; the curved table was made by my Dad in the middle 50's; I got the compressor just after college and my first 'real' job. The Spitfire print is from Shuttleworth when we visited England in '89. What a beautiful country and great 3 weeks that vacation was!!
These are the British kits, Heller and Airfix for the most part. I've done tanks in 35 and 72, 20ish muscle cars during high school; D&D figures; jets in 48 and 72, and the Mayflower (fully rigged). Most of that is now gone after moves and lack of space.
The US and Canada; Heller and Revell I think. I loved the Heller kits in the day, they were so cheap, but now, I'll gladly pay the $ for a excellent quality recent kit.
This is "the Stash"; and before you all laugh yourselves silly, I once had about 300, all sold on ebay. The tanks are old, the planes are new. That Rodney kit was purchased at a thrift shop for ONE DOLLAR on our honeymoon in '85. I'm retired just over a year now from a programming/network job, live in East Coast USA and my other hobby is this:
Thanks for all the support, info and comments from everyone out there. Since finding this forum and getting back into models; I've had a great time finding out about all the new kits and getting reacquainted with aircraft and history. I'd like to add this site on Youtube Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles ; he is a pilot, uses a lot of original military souces, and can explain many fairly technical aspects of WW2 aircraft with great clarity.
