Incredible history. 41-038 first stopped Wright Field in August 1941, then on to Eglin to have 4x20mm installed for testing, then on to Langley where it was devoted to full range of dive and drag testing as well as significant improvements to ailerons - leading to P-51B/C/D/K/H change from +/- 10 degrees to +/- 10, 12 or 15 degrees deflection. With the disappearance of X73 in the 60's, this Mustang survives as the oldest of them all.

This bird is owned by Kermit Weeks ( seen on aircraft) and I get tired thinking about how much polishing she gets.
