Chris, I agree with you on what you've said. Pop-rap is ****, I hate that. I can see it on my students - when I come to their apartment, the whole building is shaking because of stupid beats with even stupider words... But not every rap is like that. To say rap is bad is the same if you'd say that all beers are bad because of Bud... The inteligent rap is something evry deep and interesting. I will try to create a thread with that sort of music so everyone can see rap is not just about "ganstats sellin' drugs and killn' gangstas"

but I agree with you on the instruments. That's why I like reggae, rock and jazz. I love jazz. Yesterady I was on a jazz concert in my friend's pub - it was awesome!

There is no "real" guitar, no real "singing" it is someone talking in a microphone trying to make words rhyme using the words "YO YO YO" over and over and not using proper english.

It does not get my blood pumping. I find it boring.

Here is playing a real instrument. My friend is the one on the guitar, Im in the middle. This was taken about 8 years ago though, when I still had long hair before I joined the Army. Now I am growing my hair back out though. It has to be long eneogh to head bang next year at rock im park.

Well, yo yo yo does certainly go into the category of stupid trash. You cannot understand the rap, because you don't know the language. And also the environment.

nothing. I used to take lessons of guitar and drums when I was a kid but I was enevr good at it really. Pity, I'd love to. I think I'm rather a good dancer then a musician.
 
Your right I dont know the "rap" language. I think it is uneducated crap. I dont care to learn about it either since 90% of rap is this. Listening to stuff like this, I can actually feel my brain cells dieing and me becoming more dumb.

I also dont care to know the environment either. The Ghetto, living on the streets is not something that I want for me and my family. OMG, Chris, you still don't understandd what I'm tellin' ya! I say we don't fucking care about US HipHop - it is a pop-crap... We drive our own Czech hiphop, which is something different.

I 100% agree with you on your opinion on the boom boom chackah boom shit. I always laugh when I see it. It's crap.

But on the contrary, in Czech hiphop, the goal is not to destroy (killing, drugs, ghetto) but rather to create - art, nice music, philosophy, poetry...









..etc, there is tons of it out there.

No Pisis because you like something, does not mean that I have to like it also.

What I consider art and you consider art are two different things. It does not make me ignorant or not understand what you are talking about.

I dont consider rap in any way a form of art. I dont like the beats, I dont like the way the music is played and I dont like people that are not really carrying a tune. Just like you probably dont really care for my music as you said it was too aggressive. Rock does not have to be aggressive, so if that is what you truely think, does that mean that you do not know what I am talking about.

I dont fault you for not liking my kind of music.

Here I will put it out there:

I dont like Rap.
I dont like Grafitti on the walls.

It does not mean that I dont understand you. It means that it is not my taste. There is also a very large percent of people that will agree with me.
 
I personally think that people that just randomly go around and spray the city are criminals. I dont mind it being done in specific areas that are set aside for that purpose because there are soem good artists out there that do some good work, but lets face it I dont want the side of my house being covered in someones work that thinks they are expressing themselves. Its my fucking house, keep your paint off it. I also dont want to see the whole city painted either. I dont think it makes it look nicer.

To me it is not art.
 
Again, you missed my point. Or maybe it is my fault, as I didn't express it obvious enough. I was talking about grafitti, graphics and 3D street art being an art. Not synthetic beats mixed from two vinyls. That is not surely any kind of art. If it is something, then it is fun.

And all the pictures that have been posted are from permitted areas, so called "legal spots". To be clear, there is a difference between a tag and a grafitti (aka "piece")... In English, the common used name is grafitti even for tags, but it is not the saem thing.
