I was just raising the bar on myself any how lots of scheduled didn't make but it was about 30c and the sky and vis were great as you can see close to the flight line on a grass strip its airshow heaven:D

Nice stuff PB something that was commented on at Duxford this year and is bought home in your pictures, that the planes that are still around today are in much better condition than those flown during the war, when keeping em flying sometimes meant short cuts in servicing and repairs.
 
without a doubt these aircraft are in as a rule in A-1 shape polished and no dents or damage and are maintained by well trained technicians the techs in wartime would more then likely would not have the high standards of todays guys but then the war would have been more about quantity then quality .
I would not hesitate to say most aircraft during WW2 probably operated at 85% of there potential performance
