Seen a couple of places like this in Canada.

I think this one is in "The Thousand Islands" in the St Lawrence River. On the Ogdensburg to Watertown leg, passengers would ask if we could "cruise the river", and if we weren't running too late we'd do it. Often met Canadian Coast Guard/Marine Patrol aircraft cruising their side. We'd flash our landing lights at each other, or if it was dusk or dark, our logo lights.

Almost sure that is where I would have seen them possibly on the way to Toronto.

U.S. Navy AD-1 Skyraiders (1st production model) of VA-20A in Aeronautical Glossy Sea Blue paint at most probably at NAS Alameda. 2 M3 20mm guns in the wings. Air scoop at top of cowling and front of windshield was air intake for carburetor. circa 1947.
